In response to a crisis in Geneva’s healthcare system, AMGe chose independence by launching, with Atipik, a secure platform for generating service statements, now widely adopted across the canton.

Facing an unprecedented crisis in Geneva’s healthcare system, where disputes between supplementary insurers and doctors led to uncertainty and delays for patients, the Association of Physicians of the Canton of Geneva (AMGe) chose independence. Refusing to relinquish control of their billing to other stakeholders in the healthcare system, the physicians partnered with Atipik to design, in just a few weeks, a secure and fully encrypted platform, now adopted by the entire medical profession in Geneva.

Designed to meet the strictest standards in data protection and compliance with FINMA regulations, this solution showcases Atipik’s ability to tackle complex regulatory environments and deliver impactful, practical tools. This project reflects the determination of Geneva’s doctors to remain in control of their practice while adapting to the evolving Swiss medical landscape.

Simplifying billing while preserving physicians’ independence

Asteriks enables Geneva doctors to generate accurate, transparent statements perfectly aligned with the expectations of supplementary insurers. With intuitive tools and intelligent standardization, each statement and estimate can be produced in just a few clicks, for both patients and insurers, ensuring reliability, traceability, and compliance with industry requirements. This system strengthens trust between doctors, patients, and insurers, while ensuring practitioners maintain autonomy and control over their billing processes.

A challenge met: build and deploy in record time, with 3 insurers and the association of 2,000 Geneva doctors

In an emergency situation, we closely collaborated with the Association of Physicians of the Canton of Geneva and 3 partner insurers to design a custom solution, compliant with all requirements, in just a few weeks. The software was quickly rolled out to all involved doctors and insurers, providing an immediate and reliable response to a complex and unprecedented issue for all stakeholders in the healthcare system.

Asteriks includes a catalog of services covering all medical specialties, jointly validated by physicians and supplementary insurers. This unique reference system makes it easy to generate quotes tailored to each situation, create personalized scenarios for complex cases, and ensure consistency in practices across the canton. The harmonized service management and the platform’s flexibility simplify practitioners’ daily work while ensuring compliance of billed services.

Thanks to Asteriks, each billed service benefits from full traceability, from input by the physician to processing by the insurer.
